Eyes
Signs of ageing around the eyes
Smiling in the sunshine your whole life is a life well-lived! But, the continuous movements in your facial tissues and sun exposure can eventually take a toll on your skin. The delicate skin around the eyes is especially susceptible to a loss of elasticity which occurs with aging. Tiny injections around the eyes can reduce these wrinkles allowing for subtle smoothing — without dimming the radiant beauty of your smile. Now, that’s something to smile about!
Forhead
Frown lines between the eyebrows
Has anyone ever asked you, “what is wrong?” assuming you were upset when you were in reality just thinking about what you wanted for dinner? Just like they do throughout the whole body, when muscles in the face work overtime, they become larger, stronger and tend to “rest” with some contraction. This can result in facial expressions that look like scowls, as well as cause deep, permanent wrinkles.
Lower Face
Wrinkles and the nose and mouth
As we age, our face only the cumulative effects of sun exposure (changes in skin texture, loss of elasticity and hyperpigmentation), but we also lose the plumpness of youth. This cause the skin to or appear loose. Wrinkles in the lower face be caused by overactive muscles pulling the sides of the mouth down. The opposite of a smile is a frown, but “facial serenity”. Achieve harmonious balance in your face and let your smile shine once again. A shining smile is the goal. Injectables help this.
Lips
Lack of lip fullness
Kissing, talking, laughing, eating...our lips do so much for us! Of all of our features, our lips are constantly working overtime. The lip tissue is delicate and special, prone to changes that occur with aging that can result in a lack of plumpness, causing wrinkles in the lips and skin around the mouth. With careful application, treatments can be performed to regain volume in the lips, while preserving their natural character. The result? Lips that appear hydrated, lush, supple and youthful. Fresh and ready to keep smiling (and kissing!)
OUR SKIN PHILOSOPHY
Our Skin Care Lines
- Alumier
- Skin Better Science
- Elastin
- Color Science
As with all medicine, how effective something is is related to how potent and refined the active ingredient is. "you get what you pay for" is usually true. The cosmetic products sold at grocery stores and beauty salons are usually safe, but can not legally be as strong as those sold at Med Spa's or clinics.
When you are asking more
from your skincare ...
Hand cream and anti-aging serum are not the same things. Medical grade skincare products mean they must be sold by a licensed medical clinician, and cannot be sold "over the counter.”
Our personal philosophy
on skin care:
While skin care products be applied every day, it take months to take full effect. Injections take effect almost immediately, but last months to over a year.

As someone trained in surgical medicine, I tend to think of the face in terms of “layers”. At the most superficial, we have the layers of the skin. As we go deeper, we have subcutaneous fat, muscles, fascia, and ligaments, down to bone.

Having a good skin care regimen will maintain the superficial layers of the skin. The basic building work together to protect, rejuvenate, and feed healthy young skin: Vitamin C (antioxidant), Hyaluronic Acid (hydrating agents), Cerimides protection), Retinol (supporting rejuvenation), gentle exfoliation (encouraging new cell growth), peptides (catalyst and essential nutrients that participate in new cell and tissue growth), and sunscreen (to prevent skin damage from UV radiation).

Rejuvenation of the deeper layers is provided by a selection of products that need to be injected in order to treat the necessary tissue layers.
I like to think of the beauty of a natural,  landscape. The skin is the radiant blooming plant life, and one see immediately if they are and vital, or thirsty and wanting. Next, have the soil, which  be rich and nourishing when maintained, or be thin and devoid of nourishing vitality. Beneath that, have the bedrock of the landscape. This be built up in an organic that makes the whole space spellbinding and a thing of beauty, or it be flat and sterile.

Grow brightly colored flowers lean soil and hard earth? It takes a of chemicals, but it be done. Like the face, there is no amount of makeup that replace the radiant glow of a face that been loved and tenderly cared overthe years.

Discover a New
Meaning of Wellness

Over-plumped. Over-filled. Over-done. Over. It’s time for a new approach to skin rejuvenation. We've seen a growing epidemic in the field of cosmetic dermatology in which beauty was being treated as a vehicle to reach unattainable iterations of perfection through constant objectification. However, when cosmetic dermatology is treated as a form of self-care and self-renewal, it is anything but superficial. It is a journey into your own rediscovery, self-exploration and self-love.

Are injectables and fillers part of wellness?

If you are seeking a more natural approach to enhancing your skin, neuromodulators (i.e. botox) and filler can be a great option. Neuromodulators relax the delicate muscles of the face, thereby minimizing and preventing wrinkles, allowing the skin to become smooth, brite, and refreshed. Many types of fillers contain hyaluronic acid, a substance that is naturally present in the body. Hyaluronic acid works by pulling moisture into the skin. In helping to keep the skin hydrated, it aids in healing to regenerate the tissues, and create more radiant and youthful-looking skin.

FAQ

How long will the results of my treatment last?
How long your results will last depends on the type of treatment you get. Generally, Botox will last up to several months, between 3 and 6 months. With each subsequent treatment, your results will typically last longer. Some people metabolize Botox faster than others, such as those who enjoy regular vigorous exercise. The longevity of filler can range from 6 months to 1-2 years.
After my procedure, how much downtime will I need?
Any discomfort you experience after your treatment should be very minimal, similar to that after a deep facial. Small marks may be visible right after the treatment, but these will fade within 12 hours. You may also have a minimal amount of swelling, and on rare occasions, you can experience bruising. Bruising can be minimized by avoiding alcohol 24 hours prior to injections and anti-inflammatories (Ibuprofen, Aleve, Motrin, Aspirin) several days prior to injections.
How should I prepare for my consultation and treatment?
Other than making sure you are ready to take this step of self-investment - not much to worry about here. As for skin prep prior to your treatment, if you haven’t yet cleansed your skin of makeup, we will handle that for you.
What if I am not happy with my results?
Here at Xuna, we take a very natural and conservative approach to your treatment to preserve your unique beauty. Ashlee and Sundance start very gradually to help create your custom treatment plan and schedule follow up appointments to learn what is best for each patient. We are committed to producing the highest quality of results by getting to know who you are, your vision and goals for your skin, and it is our passion to help you unveil the true you.

That being said, injections are not permanent, and the effects of the treatment will wear off with time.
How much time will I need for my procedure?
Our time together is about you and we don’t want to rush that. Follow-up appointments after your initial treatment can be done more quickly. We encourage our patients to take this opportunity to really care for themselves and turn their appointment into a day of self love. Whatever it is that makes you feel pampered - do that!
